About Five Senses

Five Senses Restaurant & Bar opened on November 18th, 2004 by the brother and sister team of Mitchell & Mollie Murphree. The goal of Five Senses is to bring a fresh, local, + healthy approach to dining. Murfreesboro, TN was selected because of its population and industry boom of the late 90's and early 2000's. The goal was to be the unique dining destination for the area. Georgetown Park was chosen as the location so that diners had to find the restaurant and really want to have something different!

The name Five Senses evolved from the thought that cooking was the only art that requires the use of all five senses. Only the highest quality of food, drink and service are offered here.

Five Senses Restaurant specializes in fresh seafood, local meats + produce, and seasonal menus. The dinner, cocktail and wine menus change four times a year, procuring many food items from local farmers – Haskell Evans, Belle Fleur Farm, Simply Pure Sweets, Brass Horn, The Hammery, Pinky's Micros. The ability to alter menus with the change of the seasons is a great advantage of the restaurant.

Five Senses Restaurant and Bar turned into Five Senses Restaurant, Bar & catering in the Spring of 2007.

We cater any event from small intimate dinners & office lunches to large parties, Fundraising Events & wedding receptions - all the way to our Music Festivals -- Bonnaroo VIP & Pilgrimage Festival - Artists & Staff.

Our goal in catering is the same as in our restaurant, we want to be the best, everyday!

Mitchell Murphree became sole owner of Five Senses Restaurant in January 2011.

He is also the executive chef.

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY,  Mitchell's cooking style is that of southern US regional using classic techniques.
